Miyoko Schinner, the founder of Miyoko’s Creamery, is aiming to repurchase the plant-based dairy company she started in 2014. Following financial difficulties, the company entered an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC) process in October. Schinner, who was removed as CEO in 2022, announced her bid to acquire the assets through a competitive bidding process, stressing the urgent nature of the situation.

Schinner plans to rebuild the brand with a focus on activism and mission-driven values, aiming to create a more collaborative structure for the company. With a team of experienced individuals in the plant-based food industry, she envisions a renewed emphasis on quality and nutrient-dense products. While Schinner does not plan to return as CEO, she is determined to lead product development and uphold the company's original values, aiming to revitalize Miyoko’s Creamery and bring it back to prominence in the plant-based food market.
