Finnish startup, Mö Foods, has secured €2.4 million in funding to expand its plant-based cheese products made from oats. The company aims to scale its production and enter international markets while focusing on growing its team and output. Founded by siblings Annamari Jukkola and Marjaana Vuorio, Mö Foods uses a proprietary process inspired by traditional cheese making to create oat-based cheeses that match the flavor, texture, and performance of dairy cheese.

The company's oat milk base is efficient, nutritious, and sustainable, utilizing the entire oat for production. Mö Foods plans to license its technology to major European food producers to accelerate adoption across the category. The company's growth has surpassed that of the wider plant-based cheese market, with retail sales increasing by 88% in 2024 due to expanded distribution and new product offerings like Mö DREAMY, MÖ GREEK, MÖ GOUDA, MÖ MOZARELLA, and Mö CHAVRE, the first goat-style “cheeze” made from oat milk.
