Popular plant-based fast food chain Mr. Charlie's is set to open two new locations in San Diego, marking their first establishments in the city. The restaurants will be situated in the former Chocolat store in Hillcrest and the previous Brazilian Bowls spot in Pacific Beach. Known for their plant-based burgers, chicken-style sandwiches, nuggets, fries, and non-dairy ice cream, Mr. Charlie's also prides itself on supporting the local community by hiring individuals facing various challenges like homelessness, addiction, or reentry from incarceration.

Since its establishment in 2022, Mr. Charlie's has expanded to include three other restaurants in California and an international location in Sydney, Australia. Recently, the chain entered into a development agreement to open 18 new locations across Arizona.
