MrBeast Just Gave Lab-Grown Chicken His Stamp of Approval to 84 Million People

MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, recently featured lab-grown chicken in one of his YouTube videos, which has garnered over 84 million views. Lab-grown meat is made from animal cells in a bioreactor, without the need to slaughter animals. Experts predict that the industry could reach a value of $25 billion by 2025, and a study found that 67 percent of Americans would be willing to try lab-grown meat.

During his visit to Upside Foods, Donaldson participated in the process of making lab-grown chicken and blind taste-tested it against real chicken. Despite initially being skeptical, he couldn't tell the difference in taste and even guessed wrong when identifying which burger was lab-grown. The approval of lab-grown meat for sale in the US is seen as a significant step towards a more sustainable future, according to Upside Foods CEO Uma Valeti.
