Netherlands-based food innovation company MUCHgroup has raised €375,000 to scale its production of shiitake-based meat alternatives. By avoiding protein isolates and synthetic binders, MUCHroom offers a cleaner label and natural umami, setting itself apart from ultra-processed alternatives. The company plans to expand into institutional catering, develop new meat analogs, and increase its presence in the European market, with a revenue target of €2.8 million by 2027.

Backed by Remagine Food, MUCHgroup aims to accelerate commercial sales, enter new markets, and enhance its team through the recent funding. The company's long-term goal is to become a leading supplier of shiitake-based ingredients, offering a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to soy-based products in the food industry.
