Natural Products Canada Invests $1.7M in Seven Startups, Including Chinova Bioworks & Henri Nutrition

Natural Products Canada has invested $1.7 million into seven Canadian startups focusing on bio-based and natural products. Among the startups receiving funding are Chinova Bioworks, which has developed a natural antimicrobial ingredient, and Henri Nutrition, which creates plant-based snacks. The investments will support various aspects of these companies' growth, including regulatory approvals, scale-up efforts, and product development.

NPC's Commercialization Programs aim to accelerate the path to market for these startups by providing financial support and guidance in areas such as product validation, talent acquisition, and competitive strategy. Through these programs, NPC has invested in a total of 88 opportunities in the Canadian bioeconomy, totaling $10.6 million. The goal is to support innovative solutions that address global challenges such as climate change, food security, and chronic health issues, ultimately contributing to a stronger Canadian economy.
