Nestlé Discontinues the Vegan KitKat in the UK and Ireland

Nestlé has decided to discontinue the vegan version of their popular KitKat chocolate bar, known as KitKat V, in the UK and Ireland. The product first launched in 2021 and initially saw success as plant-based foods gained popularity during the pandemic. However, sales have since declined, leading to the decision to withdraw the product from these markets.

Cost pressures, including the rising price of cocoa and the need for separate manufacturing facilities for the vegan bar, were cited as reasons for discontinuing KitKat V. The higher retail price and placement in dedicated vegan sections in stores may have also contributed to low sales. KitKat V fans are advised to check Sainsbury’s or Tesco stores for remaining stock of the product.
