New Assessment of the Most Vegan-Friendly Areas in Latin America

A new report by Veganuary and the HappyCow platform ranks the most vegan-friendly countries in Latin America for 2024. The study looked at factors such as the number and density of vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants, the growth of vegan businesses, the availability of vegan food, the activity of the vegan community, and the understanding of veganism by the population in each city. Brazil was ranked as the most vegan-friendly country in the region, followed by Mexico. Among cities, São Paulo and Mexico City were named the top two most vegan-friendly cities in Latin America.

Mexico City saw significant growth in vegan-friendly options, with a 13% increase in establishments offering plant-based options since the previous year. Despite this growth in Latin America, the HappyCow ranking still shows London as the top vegan-friendly city in the world, followed by Berlin.
