New Study Shows Plant-Based Shift Could Boost US Economy and Jobs

A recent study conducted by Faunalytics in collaboration with BW Research Partnership examined the potential economic impacts of a shift towards plant-based foods in the US. The study modeled two scenarios over the next 15 years, one moderately increasing the popularity of plant-based products and another substantially increasing their presence in the market. The findings revealed that even a moderate shift to plant-based eating could lead to the creation of thousands of new jobs, with a substantial growth scenario potentially resulting in tens of thousands of new jobs.

The research emphasized that for these economic benefits to materialize, plant-based products must become much more prevalent than they currently are. The report also highlighted the importance of supporting workers who may be negatively impacted by the transition, recommending job training and resources for farmers, as well as establishing new plant-based facilities in communities historically reliant on animal agriculture.
