The upcoming vegan zombie film, A44, features plant-based longevity expert Dr. Michael Greger and journalist Jane Velez-Mitchell. The horror thriller is centered around compassion but includes zombies as it follows a student investigating a mysterious illness linked to the meat and dairy industry turning people into mindless killers. The film is the first non-documentary from Chris Cooney, also known as The Vegan Zombie, who wrote, produced, and directed it, raising over USD $85,000 through Kickstarter.

Dr. Greger plays a college professor in the film, a role written specifically for him by Cooney, while Velez-Mitchell plays a part as well. A44 aims to deliver a message of compassion through a unique zombie narrative, infusing elements of comedy to provoke laughter, reflection, and a different perspective on the world. The film will be released in 2025, joining a growing list of vegan-themed films highlighting plant-based living and ethical treatment of animals.
