NNB Nutrition and Axiom Foods Debut Hydrolyzed Plant Protein Line as Whey Supply Tightens

NNB Nutrition and Axiom Foods have jointly launched PeptiClear, a line of hydrolyzed plant proteins aimed at filling the gap left by the tightening supply of whey protein in the market. These proteins are designed to dissolve clearly and avoid common issues such as grittiness and off-flavors, making them suitable for a wide range of food and beverage applications such as functional beverages, baked goods, and high-protein snacks. This launch is seen as a response to the increasing demand for protein across various product categories, as well as the limitations in scalability of whey production.

In addition to PeptiClear proteins, the companies have introduced DL-185, a di-leucine peptide that aims to enhance the muscle-building potential of protein formulations. Studies have shown that DL-185 can stimulate muscle protein synthesis more effectively than leucine, providing greater strength gains in resistance-trained individuals. By combining this peptide with hydrolyzed plant proteins, NNB and Axiom hope to bridge the gap in performance often observed between plant and animal protein sources. This launch follows a recent partnership between the two companies in developing functional ingredients for beverage formulators, with NNB emphasizing the importance of innovative solutions in meeting the growing demand for high-quality protein.
