Nutella Plant-Based: Everything You Need to Know As Ferrero Launches Vegan Version of Beloved Spread in Europe

Ferrero has launched a vegan version of Nutella in Europe, starting with Italy, Belgium, and France. The new Nutella Plant-Based SKU replaces dairy milk powder with chickpeas and rice syrup, making it suitable for vegans and those with lactose intolerance. The plant-based spread has similar nutritional content to the original Nutella, with slightly lower carbohydrate and sugar levels.

In addition to the sustainable ingredients used in the vegan Nutella, Ferrero is also mindful of packaging sustainability, using a jar with 60% recycled glass and a recycled plastic lid. The company plans to expand the availability of vegan Nutella to more countries in the future and hopes to set an example for other food industry giants to create more climate-friendly, plant-based options.
