Oatly Widens Oat Milk Emissions Gap to 67% with British Dairy

Oatly's oat milk now has a 67% lower climate impact than chilled cow’s milk in the UK, up from 55% in 2021. This shift is due to the company's changes in ingredient and energy sources, including sourcing 100% local oats. An independent life-cycle analysis by Mérieux NutriSciences | Blonk has confirmed the effectiveness of these changes, showing significant reductions in emissions compared to dairy products.

Oatly's barista oat milk products in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands are now 58-71% more planet-friendly than chilled cow’s milk. The company's efforts to lower its climate footprint through improved energy efficiency, optimized transport routes, and sourcing British oats have resulted in these significant reductions.
