Over 10,000 participants from research institutions, universities, and industry joined a three-part national webinar series hosted by ProVeg China and Jiangnan University to address technical barriers in NeoProtein development in China. The series, part of the NeoProtein Innovation Center of Excellence collaboration, focused on the Top 10 Technical Challenges identified in the NeoProtein 2025 Blue Paper, which highlights key obstacles hindering the scale-up of next-generation proteins.
The webinars covered topics such as microbial protein, plant-based protein, and cultivated protein, with sessions featuring Chinese scientists and industry specialists working in these fields. The goal of the series was to facilitate dialogue and collaboration among researchers, universities, and companies to address the specific technical challenges outlined in the Blue Paper and move towards commercial progress in NeoProtein development. ProVeg China and Jiangnan University plan to continue convening stakeholders to turn the identified priorities into collaborative research and investment, emphasizing the importance of cross-sector collaboration in advancing NeoProtein innovation.
