Owners of Milwaukee’s The National Cafe to Open Vegan Concept This Fall

Milwaukee’s The National Cafe owners, Angie Wierzbinski and Amy Plennes, are set to open a new vegan concept called The Lafayette Place in East Side neighborhood this Fall. The restaurant will offer a menu consisting of breakfast, lunch, and brunch items, including The National Cafe’s popular Vegan Brekkie Sammy. The cafe will also serve smoothies and weekly soup specials, with plans to expand their hours in Spring 2022.

The Lafayette Place adds to Milwaukee’s growing vegan dining scene, with restaurants like Urban Beets, Strange Town, On The Bus, and Twisted Plants already established in the city. Many non-vegan restaurants, breweries, and ice cream shops in Milwaukee also offer plant-based options. The Lafayette Place will be located at 1978 N Farwell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202, and will be open Thursday-Sunday, with plans to expand their days and hours of operation.
