PETA Files Complaint Against Alpha Genesis Monkey Farm in South Carolina

Animal rights group PETA has filed a complaint against the Alpha Genesis Center, also known as the "monkey farm," in South Carolina. The complaint alleges cruelty, neglect, and animal deaths at the facility. The complaint was sent to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Institutes of Health, urging them to investigate the violations at the facility.

The complaint comes after 43 rhesus macaque monkeys escaped from the center, with some still on the loose. Insiders at Alpha Genesis revealed that at least 20 monkeys died of hyperthermia due to a malfunctioning diesel heater. PETA is calling for the facility to be shut down and for the monkeys to be sent to sanctuaries.
