PETA Launches First-of-Its-Kind Silicone Piglet To Replace Classroom Dissections

PETA has introduced the Kind Piglet, a silicone fetal pig, as a humane alternative to real animals in classroom dissections. The organization aims to replace the use of approximately 500,000 fetal pigs in these exercises each year, highlighting the cruelty and safety concerns associated with traditional dissections.

The Kind Piglet features color-coded organs, easy setup, and is 100 percent cruelty-free, avoiding exposure to harmful chemicals used to preserve real piglets. PETA plans to distribute these models to teachers nationwide, ensuring a more affordable, safer, and inclusive option for science education. President Tracy Reiman, who spearheaded this initiative, emphasizes the importance of exploring science without causing discomfort or harm to animals, promoting kindness and innovation in educational practices.
