Petition to Ban Vivisection of Dogs in the UK Gains Momentum

An official parliamentary petition in the UK to ban the use of dogs in vivisection procedures is gaining momentum, with over 228,000 signatures collected in a short period. The petition follows undercover footage revealing beagles kept in poor conditions at an MBR Acres facility before being sent for lab testing. Animal rights activists, including nine-year-old Isabelle from Birmingham, are calling for an immediate end to this practice, which they describe as barbaric.

Protestors from Camp Beagle have been campaigning against MBR Acres since 2021, aiming to shut down the facility. Recent legal proceedings have allowed the protestors to continue their peaceful demonstrations outside the beagle farm. Influencers and former Love Island star Faye Winter are also supporting the cause, encouraging people to sign the petition calling for a ban on using dogs in scientific and regulatory procedures, potentially leading to further discussion in Parliament.
