Phoenix the Horse Begins New Life After Rescue from Racing Industry

Phoenix, a horse rescued by Happily Heifer After sanctuary, had spent 20 years in the racing industry, giving birth to 12 foals before being discarded. The sanctuary described her as "unwanted, unclaimed, and unloved" but promised to provide her with the care and kindness she deserved. Phoenix required extensive veterinary attention, dental and hoof care, and specialized nutrition, but within days of her rescue, she began to show signs of improvement.

Despite experiencing neglect and abuse, Phoenix showed resilience and trust towards her rescuers. Supporters were invited to help name Phoenix and contribute to her rehabilitation, as she embarks on a journey towards a better life after years of exploitation in the racing industry.
