Planet Health Compton Officially Opens This Saturday

Planet Health Compton, a Black-owned vegan shopping center, is officially opening this Saturday in Compton. The plaza, created by entrepreneur Roland Jackson and former NBA player John Salley, aims to provide vegan options for the predominantly Black community. Jackson, who transitioned to a vegan diet after a near-death car accident, was inspired to share veganism with those who lack access to nutritious plant-based options.

This vegan marketplace includes a restaurant, café, juice bar, and apparel store, offering a variety of vegan Hispanic and soul food, organic juices, trendy vegan clothing, and locally made vegan products. With four permanent Black-owned businesses, educational workshops, community events, and pop-ups featuring local vegan brands, Planet Health Compton is making a positive impact on the vegan movement.
