Vegan dog food brand Omni recently appeared on BBC's Dragons' Den and secured a £75k investment from Dragons Steven Bartlett and Deborah Meaden in exchange for a 2.5 percent equity stake. Meaden, who is plant-based, described Omni as one of the most successful businesses to enter the Den, while Bartlett praised the entrepreneurs for their innovative approach to pet care.

Established in 2020, Omni specializes in nutritious and sustainable vegan dog food made from novel proteins derived from yeasts, algae, and pulses. The founders, Dr. Guy Sandelowsky and Shiv Sivakumar, were inspired to start the brand after recognizing the health and environmental impacts of conventional dog foods. Research has shown that well-formulated plant-based diets can be safe and beneficial for dogs, with plant-based dogs reportedly experiencing fewer health issues than those on traditional meat diets, according to a major 2022 study.
