Plant Based News Wins Vegan News Award

Plant Based News (PBN) was awarded the title of “Best Vegan News Outlet” at a ceremony held in London on September 21. The event, which celebrated animal advocacy charity Viva!’s 30th anniversary, took place on a river cruise on the River Thames. The ceremony was attended by around 130 animal advocates, celebrities, and Viva! supporters, including vegan entrepreneur Heather Mills and actor Peter Egan.

Guests at the event enjoyed a bespoke vegan menu by Michelin-trained chef Liam Penn, and funds were raised through a raffle and auction to support Viva!’s campaigns. Founder and director of Viva!, Juliet Gellatley, expressed gratitude for the support received, highlighting the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote veganism and fight against animal exploitation since its establishment in 1994.

Viva! focuses on advocating for a cruelty-free lifestyle, running campaigns, investigations, and educational programs to raise awareness of the ethical, health, and environmental issues associated with animal agriculture. The charity’s mission is to create a kinder world for all animals by supporting individuals in transitioning to plant-based diets.
