Planted Expands Product Range With Launch of Ready-to-Eat Steak Bites in Switzerland

Swiss alt-protein company Planted has launched planted.steak Bites, a new ready-to-eat plant-based meat product developed using its unique steak muscle technology and fermentation process. Available in selected Coop retail locations across Switzerland, the product is designed for convenience and offers a clean label, high functionality, and a nutritious profile including protein, fiber, vitamin B12, and iron. Made from soya flour, rapeseed oil, rice, and bean flours, the steak bites are low in saturated fat and free from additives.

Planted's fermentation process is key to achieving the texture and flavor of their steak products, allowing for versatility in applications such as stir-fries, stews, salads, wraps, goulash, stroganoff, fajitas, and Cajun pasta. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich, Planted has rapidly expanded across European markets with its range of structured meat analogues produced without additives or synthetic ingredients. The company's approach focuses on extrusion and fermentation techniques to replicate the muscle structure and mouthfeel of traditional meat, offering plant-based alternatives that are flavorful, inspiring, and easy to incorporate into daily meals.
