Polish Government Backs LabFarm With €2M Grant for Cultivated Chicken

Poland's first cultivated meat startup, LabFarm, has received a €2 million grant from the National Centre for Research and Development. Founded in 2022, LabFarm focuses on cultivated chicken and aims to optimize bioprocesses, scale up production, and develop products with the grant. The company plans to introduce a prototype of wet animal feed and launch a private label brand to introduce its products to European markets.

The nonprofit organizations ProVeg International and Good Food Institute Europe have applauded Poland's investment in alternative protein sources. LabFarm's success is seen as an example of how strategic initiatives and government support can lead to real change in the food industry. As part of the international coalition Cellular Agriculture Europe, LabFarm is committed to creating delicious meat products without animal suffering and minimizing the impact on the environment.
