Portillo’s Adds Plant-Based Hot Dog to Menu Nationwide

Portillo’s has recently added a plant-based hot dog option to their menu, marking the first time in the chain's 59-year history. The Garden Dog, made by Field Roast, offers a similar amount of protein as traditional meat-based hot dogs. Field Roast, known for their meatless hot dogs and sausages, has been in the plant-based food industry since 1997 and has expanded their product line to include a variety of vegan options.

Portillo’s, known for its Chicago-style hot dogs, has grown into a hot dog empire with locations in nine states. The new Garden Dog features Field Roast's Signature Stadium Dog on a steamed poppy seed bun with all the classic Chicago-style toppings. Made with pea protein and smoked maple hardwood chips, the vegan hot dog option is available at all Portillo’s locations nationwide, adding a plant-based twist to a classic favorite.
