Precision Fermentation CDMO ScaleUp Bio Announces First Customers, Signaling Opportunities for Novel Foods in Asia

ScaleUp Bio, a Singapore-based provider of CDMO services for microbial precision fermentation, has announced its first customers, including Nourish Ingredients, a food tech company from Australia. The company aims to facilitate entry into Asian markets and other regions by providing a pathway from bench-to-market pipeline. ScaleUp Bio has agreements with various companies such as C16 Biosciences, Ultimeat, and Allium Bio, all working on novel food products through microbial precision fermentation.

The CDMO has two dedicated facilities in the pre-operational phase, with full operations expected to begin in early 2024. The Fermentation Joint Lab is dedicated to R&D and food-grade fermentation, while the second facility offers up to 10,000 L fermentation capacity for pilot-stage manufacturing. ScaleUp Bio is currently hosting Customer Days to provide tours of its facilities for customer partners, researchers, and investors, showcasing the opportunities for novel foods in Asia and how the company can support strategic business objectives in the food industry's next revolution.
