ProVeg China and Jiangnan University have partnered to establish a NeoProtein Innovation Center of Excellence. The collaboration will focus on scientific research, industry-academia collaboration, market research, and knowledge exchange in the field of next-generation protein development. The initiative aims to address key challenges in the NeoProtein sector and promote breakthroughs in technology for high-quality development.

Jiangnan University, known globally for its Food Science and Engineering expertise, will work with ProVeg China to advance progress on key research challenges in the NeoProtein sector. The partnership also seeks to connect Chinese research capacity with the global protein innovation ecosystem, fostering cross-sector collaboration among research institutions and industry stakeholders. The development of NeoProtein, derived from fermentation and other non-conventional methods, is seen as a way to diversify global protein supply beyond traditional livestock and aquaculture systems.
