Pulmuone Expands Tofu Business to Europe with New Subsidiary and Plant Upgrades

South Korean tofu company, Pulmuone, is expanding its operations into Europe in early 2025 by establishing a European subsidiary in Amsterdam. The company plans to introduce its tofu products to key European markets such as France, Germany, and Spain, with products sourced from its US production facilities. To support its European expansion, Pulmuone is upgrading its tofu production plant in Massachusetts to double its output capacity and supply both the US and European markets.

Pulmuone is focusing on refining its production methods to cater to the preferences of Western consumers, such as reducing the bean odor of tofu and improving freshness through advanced logistics systems. This localization effort has contributed to the company's success in the US market, where it controls about 75% of the tofu market. With overseas sales steadily increasing, Pulmuone aims to further strengthen its foothold in Europe while developing new tofu products, including a ready-to-eat variety with a seasoning sauce set to be introduced in the US market in 2025.
