German sportswear brand Puma has decided to ditch kangaroo leather for its KING soccer boot range in favor of a vegan alternative called K-BETTER. Puma introduced the KING Platinum 21 Vegan football boot in 2022 and has since been impressed by the performance of its vegan leather substitute, leading to the decision to phase out kangaroo leather entirely by the end of 2023.

K-BETTER has been proven to outperform traditional kangaroo hide in terms of durability, touch, and comfort. Puma's new vegan leather boots have already been worn by professional football players on the pitch, with a tailored-for-women fit also available.
