Raisio Expands Finnish Oat Facility to Fuel Plant-Based Dairy Production & Global Growth

Finnish oat producer Raisio Group has completed a $1.7M expansion of its Nokia Mill to increase its oat production capacity, supporting its plant-based dairy facility and international customers. The new facilities were set up with an investment of €1.5M to enhance quality management, production operations, and the development of oat and grain ingredients. This expansion is part of the company's ongoing investment program to strengthen its oat expertise, production capabilities, and foundation for global growth.

The Nokia Mill plays a key role in Raisio's international oat business, exporting gluten-free oat ingredients to various markets. The company has also launched Elovena products, such as oat milks and non-dairy yogurts, in several European countries. Additionally, Raisio is investing in waste-to-value projects to convert grain processing byproducts into functional fiber ingredients, further enhancing its sustainability initiatives and resource efficiency.
