RespectFarms Opens Its Cultivated Meat Farm to Public Visitors on 12 September

RespectFarms will be opening its cultivated meat pilot facility in Schipluiden, Zuid-Holland to the public on Saturday September 12. The Open Farm Day will include guided tours of the production units, workshops for all ages, and opportunities to speak with researchers and experts in the field. The event is free to attend and is designed to encourage open discussion and learning about cultivated meat.

The project is supported by a €500,000 investment from the Province of Zuid-Holland, which will go towards knowledge exchange, public information, and an experience center at the farm. The facility is not intended for commercial supply, but rather for research purposes, with a fully operational pilot farm expected by 2028. Co-founder Ira van Eelen emphasized the importance of farmers remaining central to food production, highlighting the project's focus on exploring how farmers can participate in the future of cultivated meat.
