Robertson Foundation Invests $19M to Curb Methane Through Plant-Rich Diets & Food Waste Reduction
Green Queen • Jul 30, 2026
The Robertson Foundation has invested $19M in six organizations working to reduce methane emissions from the food system through plant-based dietary shifts and food waste reduction. The grant will cover a three-year period and aims to address climate change by starting with changes in the food we consume and waste. Beneficiary organizations include Tilt Collective, American Heart Association, World Resources Institute, World Wildlife Fund, Full Circle Future, and Zero Food Waste Coalition.
The organizations will focus on either reducing food waste or promoting plant-based diets to lower methane emissions. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas with a significant impact on climate change, and reducing its output is crucial. The Robertson Foundation has committed a total of $50M towards food system transformation efforts since 2024, supporting initiatives that aim to cut food waste, reduce methane emissions, and promote healthier, plant-rich diets to benefit both the environment and public health.
