RSSL Establishes “UK’s First” Novel Foods Expert Network in Collaboration With ICL & The Supplant Company

RSSL has announced the establishment of the UK’s first Novel Foods Expert Network for Regulatory Challenges (NFX UK) in collaboration with Imperial College London and The Supplant Company. With funding secured from Innovate UK, the network aims to provide industry access to regulatory science tools, promote collaborations within the novel foods sector, and foster positive exchanges with regulatory authorities.

NFX UK will play a key role in accelerating the development and commercialization of new food technologies, supporting the UK government’s goal of streamlining regulatory processes for novel foods. The network's establishment aligns with the UK government’s potential reforms to novel foods regulations, with the aim of speeding up approvals for products like cultivated meat and fermented proteins. RSSL's Managing Director & VP, Jacinta George, expressed excitement for leading NFX UK and emphasized the transformative potential of novel food innovation in delivering cost-effective, sustainable, and healthy food options.
