Schouten Buys Fellow Dutch Plant-Based Meat Player to Expand Europe Footprint

Schouten Europe, a Dutch plant protein company, has acquired Bobeldijk Food Group in a move to expand its presence in the European plant-based meat and seafood market. Bobeldijk, previously a meat business, transitioned to exclusively producing meat-free foods in 2020. This acquisition allows Schouten to increase its production capacity, enhance its product portfolio, and strengthen its position in the growing plant-based market.

Schouten's plant-based meat sales grew by over 30% in 2025, showcasing the company's success in the sector.
