Seb Alex On Photographing The Animals Society Doesn’t Want To See

Seb Alex, an animal rights activist and photographer, uses his camera to shed light on the hidden world of animal agriculture. He documents the suffering of farmed animals, including frogs, fish, shrimp, and ducks, to encourage people to think about the impact of their choices. Alex challenges the notion of a sentience hierarchy and believes all animals, regardless of their perceived level of sentience, deserve to be treated with respect and compassion.

Despite many people in the west believing they have superior animal welfare standards, Alex reveals that animal abuse is prevalent worldwide. While western countries hide their factory farms from the public eye, Indonesian farms have been more accessible for Alex to document. Although his work takes a toll on him emotionally, he remains focused on exposing the truth about how animals are treated in the agriculture industry and hopes to capture images of wild animals living freely in Namibia in the future.
