The research suggests that even a modest increase in the adoption of plant-based products could lead to significant job creation, with the moderate growth scenario predicting thousands of new jobs and the substantial growth scenario anticipating tens of thousands of new jobs by 2040. Furthermore, the study indicates positive impacts on key economic indicators such as GDP, tax revenue, and labor income, with more substantial growth in the plant-based sector potentially resulting in a 4% increase in GDP and significant boosts to tax revenue and labor income.

As agriculture and food production are vital components of the US economy, any significant change in consumer behavior towards plant-based foods could have far-reaching implications. The study calls for further research to explore localized impacts, global trade effects, and strategies for supporting communities currently reliant on animal agriculture that may be negatively affected by the transition.
