Singapore Clears Its First Cultivated Beef With Aleph Farms Approval

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has approved the sale of Aleph Farms’ cultivated beef, making Singapore the second market to clear the company’s Cultivated Thin-Cut Steak. Aleph Farms is now the only producer worldwide holding regulatory approval for cultivated beef, meeting rigorous novel food frameworks and positioning itself as a pioneer in the industry. Singapore, known for its strong ecosystem for cultivated meat, is Aleph Farms' Asia-Pacific scale-up hub, allowing them to diversify animal protein sources and complement conventional beef supply chains without replacing them.

Aleph Farms, founded in 2017, has raised $147 million to date and has filed for approval in additional markets such as Thailand, Switzerland, and the UK. The company has emphasized the importance of meeting strict regulatory standards and demonstrating the safety of cultivated beef as they continue to pursue approvals in more markets. Building on the success in Singapore, Aleph Farms aims to scale up commercialization in Asia and beyond while working towards a more sustainable and diversified global food supply.
