Singapore Vegan Startup Hegg is Now in the Egg Section of Your Supermarket, After Partnering with the Island’s Leading Egg Distributor

Singaporean vegan egg startup Hegg, a subsidiary of Howw Foods, has partnered with Dasoon, the nation's largest egg distributor, to expand its presence in local supermarkets. The collaboration has led to the introduction of Hegg's vegan Eggless Egg in cold-storage outlets across Singapore, offering a plant-based alternative made from canola protein, edible gum, and potato fibre. The product, with 6.4g of protein per 10g serving, can be used in various cooking applications and is available for purchase at S$4.50 for a 50g pack.

Hegg is not the first plant-based egg company in Singapore, with brands like Float Foods also offering vegan egg substitutes. The growing trend of plant-based alternatives aligns with Singapore's 30 by 30 initiative, aiming to locally produce 30% of all food consumed by 2030. As more companies support this initiative with climate-friendly products, the shift towards sustainable food options like Hegg's Eggless Egg is essential for achieving the country's food security goals.
