Solar Foods Signs Letter of Intent Regarding Commercialization of Up to 1,650 Tonnes Per Year of Its Air-Based Protein, Solein

Solar Foods, a Finnish company, has signed a Letter of Intent with a leading international brand in health and performance nutrition to commercialize between 500 and 1,650 tonnes of its air-based protein, Solein, per year from 2026-2030. The collaboration aims to develop products in the Health & Performance category, such as ready-to-mix protein shakes and protein bars, by exploring integration into end-customer offerings.

The potential agreement for 1,650 tonnes of Solein per year would represent around 13% of the company's Factory 02 production capacity, which is currently in the pre-engineering phase. Factory 02, with an annual planned capacity of 12,800 tons, will be built in three phases with the final investment decision expected next year. Solar Foods previously signed MoUs for the commercialization of 6,000 tonnes of Solein per year, demonstrating Solein's strong commercial potential and generating interest from customers for Factory 02's final investment decision.
