South Korea Launches Nine Day Vegan Food Tour

South Korea has launched a nine-day vegan food tour to showcase its vibrant culture, unique cuisine, and flourishing plant-based community. Organized by the Korea Tourism Organization in collaboration with Green Earth Travel, the tour will include stops in major cities like Seoul, Busan, and Jeju, featuring visits to local markets, restaurants, cooking classes, and other culturally significant activities. Participants will have the chance to taste and prepare authentic Korean dishes made with 100 percent plant-based ingredients, such as gochujang, makgeolli, kimchi pancakes, and bibimbap.

The tour comes in response to the growing number of people adopting a vegan lifestyle in South Korea, with at least 2.5 million vegans in the country as of 2021. South Korea has seen a surge in vegan and vegan-friendly eateries, making it an ideal destination for plant-based travelers. The country recently published a national plan to boost the plant-based food industry, signaling a shift towards more sustainable and health-conscious dining options. The tour will run from September 20 to 28, 2024, and cost USD $4120 per person with double occupancy accommodation, offering a unique and deliciously eye-opening culinary adventure for participants.
