Samyang Foods, the company behind Buldak ramen, has opened a new plant-based food research facility in the Netherlands, focusing on protein and functional foods. Located near Wageningen, a hub for agrifood tech research, the facility will collaborate with local networks to develop plant-based products tailored to European markets. The company aims to accelerate the adoption of healthy and sustainable foods while expanding its presence in Europe.

The R&D hub will conduct research on plant proteins and new technologies to enable the development of healthier plant-based foods. Operating in tandem with Samyang Foods Europe, the subsidiary in Amsterdam, the facility plans to incorporate market insights to enhance its understanding of European consumer preferences.
