South Korea’s Unlimeat Partners with Just Egg to Unveil Vegan Kimbap and Breakfast Sandwich

South Korean plant-based meat producer Unlimeat has partnered with US vegan egg brand Just Egg to introduce vegan kimbap and a breakfast sandwich using Just Egg's folded egg format. The vegan kimbap will be launched in Gangnam, followed by an American-style breakfast sandwich featuring a plant-based Tteokgalbi patty by Unlimeat, vegan cheese, and folded Just Egg. This collaboration comes as veganism is on the rise in South Korea, with an increasing number of strict vegans and vegetarians in the country.

Unlimeat, known for its plant-based meat products, entered the US market last year and offers a variety of vegan options including pulled pork, jerky, dumplings, and tuna. Just Egg also entered the Korean market in 2021, taking advantage of an egg shortage due to a bird flu outbreak. The partnership between Unlimeat and Just Egg aims to provide consumers with more choices for vegan alternatives in the country, which is becoming a global hub for alternative protein innovation.
