Spain’s Foodtech Innovation Awards Name Seven Winners Across Sustainability, AI, and Alternative Protein

The Foodtech Innovation Awards at Expo Foodtech 2026 in Spain recognized seven companies for their innovations in sustainability, AI, and alternative protein. Among the winners was Noiet Foods, awarded for their plant-based NOIFERM protein made from oat and rice byproducts from beverage production. Other finalists included Rich'in for plant-based high-protein pasta and Fruselva for functional infant products.

In the startup categories, Sporalys received the ICEX Award for its solid-state fermentation platform, while The consumer.ai won the La Vega Innova Award for its AI-powered SaaS platform. Other winners included Laminar, Uraphex, Proton Europe, and Bioplastics4health for their advancements in water optimization, industrial disinfection, freezing technology, and bio-based biopolymer food packaging. Expo Foodtech continues to be a leading technology trade fair in Spain, showcasing the latest innovations in the food and beverage sector.
