Squeaky Bean Launches Wheat-Based Pulled Pork Shreds With 30g Protein per Pack

UK-based plant-based brand Squeaky Bean has launched BBQ Pulled Pork Style Shreds with 30g of protein per pack, now available at Sainsbury’s. Developed by The Compleat Food Group, the product is made from wheat protein and can be eaten cold or heated to reproduce the texture of slow-cooked pork. The company suggests using the shreds in various dishes such as bao buns, wraps, rice bowls, loaded fries, and salads.

The new shreds join Squeaky Bean’s core range, which includes other plant-based products like Pastrami Slices and Tuna Style Flakes. The brand has seen a 22% increase in value sales over the latest 12 weeks. Squeaky Bean has a history of market-first claims, introducing innovative products like tofu slices, fermented rye burgers, and pies containing fermented vegetables. The launch of the BBQ Pulled Pork Style Shreds aims to meet the increasing demand for protein-rich plant-based options that don’t compromise on taste, offering consumers a convenient and tasty alternative.
