Stella McCartney’s Latest Vegan Sneakers Are Made From Pineapple And Dyed With Cinnamon

Stella McCartney is releasing a new version of its vegan and sustainable S-Wave Sport sneakers for fall 2025. The shoes feature Piñayarn uppers made from upcycled pineapple waste and soles made from BioCir Flex, a biobased, recyclable rubber alternative. The soles are dyed with cinnamon, giving the shoes a warm scent, and the upcycling process saves up to 6kg of CO2 emissions per 1kg of yarn.

The British fashion house describes the S-Wave Sport sneakers as its "most responsible sneaker to date," combining sustainable materials with a vintage running shoe aesthetic. Stella McCartney has partnered with Balena to create BioCir Flex, a fully compostable alternative to recycled plastic soles. The sneakers retail for £520 per pair and at end of life, customers can send them back to be recycled or composted to further minimize the environmental impact.
