Supermarket Chain REWE ‘To Open All-Vegan Store’

German supermarket chain REWE is set to open its first all-vegan store, called REWE Voll Pflanzlich, in Berlin. The store will cater to the increasing demand for plant-based options in Germany, which has the highest rate of vegetarianism in Europe. REWE has already made efforts to provide plant-based products to its customers, including introducing a vegan meat counter and stocking service counters with plant-based options.

The German government has also pledged to invest in promoting vegan foods and alternative proteins to protect the environment. REWE's move to open an all-vegan store aligns with the growing trend towards plant-based diets and sustainability. Other major retailers in Europe, such as BILLA, Lidl, Aldi, and Tesco, have also expanded their plant-based ranges to meet the demand for more accessible plant-based options.
