Curve and Digital Tvilling, two Swedish companies, are partnering to create an integrated biomanufacturing platform that utilizes AI and digital twin technology to lower the costs of precision fermentation. The aim is to address the challenge of unit economics in alternative protein and ingredient production, which is currently hindering commercial viability. The platform will collect data from each fermentation run to continuously improve efficiency for future batches, combining Curve's bioproduction hardware with Digital Tvilling's AI and data infrastructure.

The collaboration focuses on utilizing bioprocess data more effectively to make the system smarter, efficient, and scalable. By co-designing both hardware and software components from the ground up, the platform aims to provide observability, traceability, and adaptive intelligence as integral capabilities. Development is already in progress, with the first capabilities of the integrated platform expected to be demonstrated by 2026, promising a new approach to precision fermentation that could drive down production costs over time.
