Switzerland’s catchfree Raises CHF 1.2M to Scale Production of Innovative Plant-Based Seafood

Swiss food tech startup catchfree has raised CHF 1.2 million in a seed funding round to scale production of their innovative plant-based seafood alternatives. Founded in 2020, catchfree creates products such as shrimp, fish burgers, and fish bites using ingredients like rice, soy protein, and algae, offering a sustainable and healthy alternative to traditional seafood.

The company plans to use the investment to increase production capacity and launch products in Switzerland, aiming to address issues like overfishing and the use of antibiotics in the conventional seafood industry. Catchfree sees a growing demand for sustainable nutrition and aims to meet this need by providing high-quality plant-based seafood options to consumers, starting with selected restaurants and expanding into national distribution.
