Symrise Introduces Chickpea Range Including Vegan Egg Yolk Alternative Aquafaba Flakes

German company Symrise has launched a new range of chickpea and aquafaba ingredients, including aquafaba flakes, as a vegan alternative to egg yolk. The aquafaba flakes offer texture for vegan products such as mayonnaise and salad dressings, while the chickpea flakes enhance the juiciness and texture of foods like falafels and hummus. These products provide clear labeling, are allergen-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO, with a shelf-life of up to eighteen months.

As consumer demand for plant-based products grows, Symrise is tapping into the trend with their chickpea ingredients. With 42% of the population limiting their intake of animal-based products, the company sees aquafaba as a perfect vegan alternative to egg yolk and chickpea flakes as a way to improve the nutritional value of various food items. This new range of ingredients adds to Symrise's portfolio of products catering to the plant-based market.
