Taco Bell Is Now Testing Vegan Beef at 95 Locations in Detroit

Taco Bell is now testing vegan beef at 95 locations in Detroit, Michigan. This plant-based meat alternative is approved by the American Vegetarian Association and is certified vegan, giving customers the option to enjoy their favorite menu items without animal-based meat. The vegan protein can be substituted in place of ground beef or in the vegan-friendly Cravetarian Taco by simply requesting the item without cheese and sour cream.

The new Cravetarian menu at Taco Bell features limited-edition plant-based dishes, including plant-based versions of popular items like the Nachos BellGrande, Burrito Supreme, Crunchwrap Supreme, and Crunchy Taco Supreme. While the chain currently does not offer vegan cheese, diners can easily modify their order to be vegan by omitting cheese shred, queso, and sour cream. With the success of the vegan beef trial in Detroit and previous plant-based options offered in Southern California, Taco Bell may continue to test and develop more vegan-friendly menu items in the future.
